Location: Wisconsin, United States

I am a convert to the Catholic Church after serving in ordained ministry for more than nine years in another denomination. I hold a bachelor's degree in history, a master's degree in historical theology, and another in systematic theology, and am currently working (very slowly) on my doctorate. I work in Christian Education and Formation and teach at the University level. I am blessed with a wonderful wife and eight great kids! When I'm not studying, reading, or blogging, I enjoy eating and drinking! Like Bilbo Baggins, I have been specializing in food for many years, and my table has a high reputation!

SUBJECT: LIFE -- AND DEATH!!!

There is an international disaster going on in Haiti.

Former Southern Baptist minister; former Presidential candidate; and long-time "religious" talk-show host Pat Robertson announces that Haiti has been "cursed" and "swore a pact to the devil".

What an unmitigated ASS!!!

What an INSENSITIVE JERK!!!

What a THEOLOGICAL NINCOMPOOP!!!!!!!

WHAT the HELL kind of Christianity does he propose to promote???????

The Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, among tens, if not hundreds of thousands of others are dead. Millions more are homeless, and potentially dying.

At this point in time -- we pray, and we follow the Corporal Acts of Mercy.

Everything else is up to God.

For Pat Robertson -- or anyone else of his ilk -- to even SUGGEST anything otherwise, is SICK, PERVERTED, and DISGUSTING -- not to say UN-CHRISTIAN in the EXTREME!!!

Readers, pray for Haiti!

Papa Z.

It amazes me when men (or women) of God say or do things that are the anthesis of Christ's teachings. People of faith need to react when our religious leaders stray so far off the path.

Thanks for reacting.

You get some people out there who get so absorbed in thinking that they're God's messengers that they start confusing their own views as divine. Completley agree that those comments are disgusting and against true christian values.
