SUBJECT: FAITH & THE CHURCH!!!!!!!
Bishop William Lori, of the Diocese of Bridgeport, CT, has been appointed the 16th Archbishop of Baltimore! Rocco Palmo in his "Whispers in the Loggia" column has the details.
Bishop Lori, 60, is the head of the new USCCB's ad hoc Committee on Religious Liberty as well as the Supreme Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus (in which your faithful scribe is an active participant.)
My guess is that the Archbishop-Designate has a red hat in his future.
Congratulations to Bishop Lori!
Congratulations are also due to Monsignor David Malloy of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the new Bishop-Designate of the Diocese of Rockford! Msgr. Malloy recently completed a 5-year term as the General Secretary for the USCCB, and is currently the Pastor of St. Francis de Sales parish in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin -- just down the road. Our loss is Rockford's gain.
Blessings to all,
Papa Z.
