Location: Wisconsin, United States

I am a convert to the Catholic Church after serving in ordained ministry for more than nine years in another denomination. I hold a bachelor's degree in history, a master's degree in historical theology, and another in systematic theology, and am currently working (very slowly) on my doctorate. I work in Christian Education and Formation and teach at the University level. I am blessed with a wonderful wife and eight great kids! When I'm not studying, reading, or blogging, I enjoy eating and drinking! Like Bilbo Baggins, I have been specializing in food for many years, and my table has a high reputation!

SUBJECT: RELIGION!!!

The End!!!

This will be my last post regarding the Charismatic Episcopal Church. The amount of venom by some -- CERTAINLY not all -- members of that body toward their brothers and sisters who have, for whatever reason, moved in different directions still continues. The "spin" and (at best) misleading information coming out of San Clemente still continues. The tragedy continues.

I have tried, to the best of my ability -- and sometimes have failed -- to provide information and communication which was accurate, and as dispassionately as I could. Many will say that I have failed miserably, while many, many more have thanked me for providing a needed service. Sadly, some personal attacks have come from fellow Catholics who seem to feel that once one swims the Tiber, one should be automatically immune to criticisism. This is unfortunate.

Regardless, I am backing out of further CEC discussion and controversy. I will continue to provide support for those who contact me privately. I continue to pray for healing wherever necessary.

Comments will no longer be supported on this blog with regard to any CEC entry.

A very wise decicion David.

What else is there to say?

Here I am after just having marked my one year anniversary of leaving the CEC and even today (as if I should expect it at al) I have not heard one word from my former "bishop", Craig Bates.

No questions, no "sorry to hear you left", no nothing.

Some pastor eh?!

Former "brothers" seem to care less. Not one word.

My former priest finally emailed me in July, just one month short of the "year", after absolutely no contact prior to that. I think he really was simply trying to see where I was at and if I might be approachable for giving money to his pet project, since i never heard from him again after I responded to him. No relationship - just checking to see if he could gloat over my "expected" potential crash-and-burn following my leaving "THE Church".

But I really want to say to you: "good for you!" It is about time to leave the past behind.

Pray for our lost brothers and sisters and especially the breaking of relationships, but as for the rest? Good riddence!

I am in such a much better place now myself as you well know. I am glad to have my sight back!

Blessings+
